Assassination of Two Shia Clerics in Afghanistan: Taliban Vows to Bring Perpetrators to Justice

KABUL (IQNA) – The Taliban described the recent assassination of six people, including two Shia clerics, in Afghanistan’s Herat as an "unforgivable" crime.

The Taliban’s interior ministry released a statement, slamming the crime and vowing to bring those perpetrating it to justice.

“Unfortunately, six of our compatriots, including several women, were killed in a terrorist attack in Angil County, Herat Province,” the ministry said, adding that two more individuals were injured in the attack.

The Taliban government condemns the attack and offers sympathy to the families of the victims of attack and prays for quick recovery of the injured, it added, according to Ava News.

The interior ministry considers the enemies of Afghanistan’s people to be behind such terrorist crimes and vows to seriously investigate this criminal act and identify and bring to justice its perpetrators, the statement read.
