ISLAMABAD (IQNA) – Winners of a Quran competition held in Pakistan’s Baluchistan Province were honored in a ceremony.

The Iranian Culture Center in Quetta organized the competition and the awarding ceremony, according to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

Wajahat Ridha, an internationally-acclaimed qari from Quetta also cooperated in holding the Quranic event.

The contenders from different parts of the province competed in two age groups of 10 to 17 and 18 to 35 years.

They competed in the category of recitation of the Quran in the preliminary and final rounds.

A total of 108 individuals took part in the contest, including 38 teenagers and 67 adults.

Mohammad Ridha Haydari, Iftikhar Ali Khan, and Maytham Ali were the top winners in the teenagers’ age group.

As for the adults, Barakat Ali, Abdul Khaliq Rahii and Mohammad Adil came first to third, respectively.

The winners received awards and certificates of honor at the closing ceremony.
