Int’l Quranic Conference Planned in Istanbul

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The branch of Al-Mustafa International University in Turkey and Cyprus plans to organize an international Quranic conference in Istanbul later this week.

Slated for Friday and Saturday, March 10-11, it will be held under the title of “Quran, Contemporary Human and Challenges,” head of the branch Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Vahid Kashani said.

He said a number of Iranian and Turkish university scholars will take part in the international event.

The Turkish scholars will be from the universities of Ankara, Igdir, Gaziantep, Van and Agri, he added.

According to Kashani, the conference will be broadcast live on Turkey’s Channel 14 network as well as Quran TV internet television at elmustafakuran.tv.

He added that a message by President of Al-Mustafa International University Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Abbasi about the recent earthquakes in Turkey and the university’s aid to those affected by the quakes will be read out at the opening session.

He went on to say that Quran and sciences, Quran and ethics, Quran and theology, Quran and politics, Quran and social justice and Quran and woman are among the themes of papers to be presented at the conference.
