Educational Benefits of Pilgrimage

TEHRAN (IQNA) – It has been emphasized in Hadiths that if one has a request from God, it would be a good idea to make Ziyarah (pilgrimage) and visit the graves of religious figures or his own parents and ask it from God there.

This is an educational Sunnah for us to have our requests and prayers answered sooner.

An Infallible person pays attention to the one who visits his or her shrine.

Some who have a materialistic view of the world may consider Ziyarah and praying to Almighty God as ineffective and void, but those who believe in the truth of monotheism, prophethood and Imamate realize that going on pilgrimage is not just about visiting an Infallible person’s grave but it is a visit to a divine person.

One who has such a belief will receive more of divine favors when he or she asks something from God.

It has been said that the wisest people in the world are those who will use the world’s joys as much as they can and it is rational to attract every possible benefit and avoid any possible harm.   

Pilgrimage is a way to attract benefits and ward off harms.

What’s important in pilgrimage is asking God not only about our worldly needs and desires but also for our spiritual needs. Our religion and faith are our greatest assets and we should therefore, pay more attention to these areas.
