Holy Kaaba in Mecca

Tawaf al-Wida (The Farewell Tawaf) is the act of circumambulation of the Kaaba just before leaving the Grand Mosque in Mecca at the end of Hajj.

With the conclusion of the rituals, the tents housing pilgrims in Mina were also emptied by Saturday evening.

The Hajj pilgrimage had begun on Monday with the participation of over 1.8 million Muslims from around the world.

Among them were more than 87,000 pilgrims from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The pilgrimage came to an end on Saturday and the pilgrims hugged and congratulated one another at the Grand Mosque for succeeding to fulfil their duty.

Those pilgrims who had not started the journey in Medina before Hajj are leaving Mecca for Medina to visit the holy shrine of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

They will be there for about five days before leaving for their home countries.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
