Islamic Center Hamburg Announces Details of Upcoming European Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Germany Dar-ol-Quran, affiliated with the Islamic Center Hamburg, which annually organizes the European Quran competition announced some details of the ninth edition of the Quranic event.

According to the announcement, the upcoming contest will start on March 10 and run for three days.

There will be two age groups of 16 and younger and above 16 years of age, the Dar-ol-Quran said.

The competition will be held in the categories of Quran memorization (men and women), Quran recitation (men), Tarteel (women), Quranic concepts (men and women), Adhan (men), and Tawasheeh (men).

Contestants in the Quranic concepts category will be tested on interpretation of Surah Al-Isra based on Nemuneh Exegesis of the Quran.

All Muslims from different schools of thought who reside in European countries can take part in the competition. Each contender can take part only in one category.

Those who have won the first to third ranks in previous editions can participate in a different category this year.

The Dar-ol-Quran noted that internationally recognized Quran experts will serve as members of the panel of arbiters.

It went on to say that various educational programs and Quranic circles will be held on the sidelines of the contest.

The deadline for registration is March 1 and those interested can sign up for the Quranic event here.

The annual competition is aimed at promoting the Quranic culture and teachings, identifying and nurturing Quranic talents, and enhancing unity in the Quranic community of Europe.
