A number of women scholars and thinkers from Iran and Thailand attended the event, held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA), the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported.
In his address, Iranian Cultural Attaché in Thailand Mehdi Hassankhani referred to the teachings of religions, especially Islam, about women and said religions have given women a prominent status and a valuable and constructive role.
He also stressed the accomplishments of Iranian women in various scientific, cultural, political and social areas and their role in the elevation of family and society.
Other speakers highlighted the role of women from the viewpoint of the Holy Quran, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Zahra (SA).
The 20th day of the month of Jumada al-Thani in the lunar Hijri calendar marks the birth anniversary of the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). It fell on Sunday, January 23, this year.
