TEHRAN (IQNA) – Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement underlined that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has turned threats into opportunities.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remark Wednesday night in Beirut in an address to a conference titled “Innovation and Ijtihad in View of Imam Khamenei”.

He added that Imam Khamenei is not only a source of emulation but also a leader and Waliy-e Amr, and that is a status that in addition to possessing the knowledge of Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) requires merits, bravery, etc.

Nasrallah underlined that Imam Khamenei possesses all the requirements and has carried out the responsibility (of leading the Islamic Ummah) very well since assuming it following the demise of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA).

The Hezbollah leader urged all Islamic groups and factions in the world to study the views of Imam Khamenei.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Nasrallah referred to Hezbollah’s fight with terrorists and said the movement's fighters will soon put an end to the presence of Takfiri terrorists near Lebanon's borders.

He underlined the recent achievements of Hezbollah fighters in Arsal and Qalamoun areas, and stressed, "I assure you that their defeat is imminent and it just needs time."

He went on to say that Hezbollah has a serious will in its fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group.

The Syrian army, backed by fighters from the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, has been making significant gains against Takfiri terrorists operating in the Lebanese-Syrian border region of Qalamoun.

The joint forces of the Syrian army, Syria’s National Defense forces and Hezbollah fighters have tightened the noose around the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group al-Nusra Front near the Syrian town of Flitah in Qalamoun, which straddles the border between Syria and Lebanon.

The joint forces managed to retake control of a number of hilltops overlooking the border, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists in the region.
