TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Pakistani scholar and political analyst said the West is scared by the Islamic Awakening and the rising number of Muslims and that is the reason behind the desecration of Islamic sanctities.

Speaking to IQNA, Amanullah Shadizi, added that the insulting cartoons published by the French magazine Charlie Hebdo is part of the same Western scheme that began with the conspiracy of the September 11 attacks.
On January 14, the French weekly Charlie Hebdo, whose Paris office was attacked by two gunmen on January 7, once again published a cartoon of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on the cover of its new edition despite warnings that the move is provocative.
The sacrilegious move has drawn condemnation from Muslims all over the world.
Asked about Muslims’ reaction to the blasphemous action, Shadizi said followers of Islam around the world have voiced their protest against it and proven how they love and revere Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Seal of Prophets.
“Muslims world over proved that they will not back down from defending the sanctity of the Holy Prophet (PBUH),” he underscored.
The Pakistani political analyst regretted, though, that many Arab countries’ governments have failed to do their part in defending Islamic sanctities.
He also underlined the need for Islamic unity and said if Muslims stand united, no one will dare to desecrate the Islamic values.
Shadizi further praised the stance of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA), against insults to Islam, noting that Imam Khomeini’s historic Fatwa (religious edict) against Salman Rushdie is an example that Muslim countries should follow.
British Indian novelist and writer Salman Rushdie insulted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his fourth novel, The Satanic Verses, which was written in 1988. The desecration  sparked protests by Muslims around the world.
Imam Khomeini issued a fatwa (religious edict) on 14 February 1989 calling for his death.
