According to Radna website, it is aimed at supporting Palestinians’ rights.

Al-Azhar chief Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb has issued orders on the establishment of the center in al-Quds.

In a recent speech, he said Al-Azhar will keep exposing the Zionist regime’s moves against Palestinians and give the occupation regime the message that their crimes will be revealed to all people.

He said Al-Azhar will also continue its efforts to awaken world conscience until the unjust occupation of Palestine, which is against all divine and religious rules, ends.

Al-Tayeb further deplored the silence of some Arab and Islamic governments on the issue of Palestine.

He further said that Al-Azhar is ready to admit more Palestinians who wish to study at the MA and PhD levels in the fields of Islamic sciences.

Al-Azhar is a historical mosque and Islamic center in Cairo, Egypt’s capital. A Fatimid Caliph commissioned its construction for the newly established capital city in 970 C.E. It was the first mosque established in the city.
