TEHRAN (IQNA) – Results of a poll recently conducted in the Arab world shows that the people of Kuwait are opposed to normalization of ties with the Israeli regime more than other Arab nations.

According to Al Jazeera, the poll also revealed that Kuwaitis are more committed to the boycott of the Zionist regime than other Arabs.

Some 95 percent of Kuwaitis questioned about trade ties with Israel said they are totally against it.

Seventy-five percent said they will not approve of normalization of ties with the Tel Aviv regime under any circumstances.

Last month, a number of Kuwaiti institutes and civil society foundations underlined their opposition to any move toward normalization of relations with the Zionists.

In a letter to the Emir of Kuwait, the 28 organizations and institutions reiterated their stance on the need for supporting the cause of Palestine and rejection of normalization of ties with Israel under any pretext.

They said backing the Palestinian nation’s struggles and efforts to liberate all Palestinian lands is an ethical, human and principled cause that can never be compromised or neglected.

Kuwait Society of Lawyers, Sociologists Association, Society of Engineers, Transparency Society, and Alumni Association were among the organizations signing the letter.

It came amid US President Joe Biden’s visit to the Middle East in July with the aim of pushing for more Arab countries to normalize ties with the Tel Aviv regime.

Four Arab countries – the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco – agreed to normalize their relations with Israel under US-brokered agreements in 2020.

Spearheaded by the UAE, the move has sparked widespread condemnations from the Palestinians as well as nations and human rights advocates across the world, especially within the Muslim world.
