Hathaleen died on Monday morning of his injuries sustained after being run over by an Israeli military vehicle two weeks ago.

In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Hathaleen had succumbed to his wounds at al-Mezan hospital in al-Khalil (Hebron).

He was seriously injured on Jan. 5 after he was run over by a military vehicle during an Israeli raid in the town of Umm al-Khair in the southern West Bank.

According to his relatives, the vehicle drove straight into Hathaleen while standing on the side of the road.

Hamas strongly condemned the killing and said the martyr’s blood will strengthen the Palestinian resistance.

History will mark his martyrdom with a “pen of light” and his lifestyle will guide the Palestinian youth in confrontation with the occupiers, the movement added.

The Islamic Jihad movement also denounced the latest Israeli crime, saying the occupiers and Zionist settlers continue to show their terrorist nature by attacking defenseless Palestinians who defend their rights and their motherland.

It expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Hathaleen and called him a martyr of defending the holy land of Palestine.

The Islamic Jihad also called on the Palestinian nation to intensify their struggle against the occupiers all over Palestine.
