This is not the first time group Quran recitation is being held in Senegal. A video had also been released last year which showed a large number of children and adolescents in the African country who recited verses of Quran together with the style of Al-Hussary.

Senegal is situated in West Africa with Dakar as its capital. According to the latest figures, more than 95% of its people are following Islam. The culture of Quran has been well promoted in its society.

Al-Hussary was a renown Egyptian Qari and Quran memorizer (1917-1980). He won Egypt Radio's Quran Recitation contest in 1994. He committed the entire Quran to memory by age eight and started reciting at public by age 12.
