Masjid al-Haram Hosts Worshipers for Daily Prayers Again

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Masjid al-Haram, also known as the Great Mosque, in Mecca opened its doors to worshippers for saying daily prayers again on Sunday.

Saudi citizens and residents living in the kingdom were allowed to perform prayers in Islam’s holiest site on the first day of the lunar Hijri month of Rabi al-Awwal for the first time after seven months.

The mosque had been closed since March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Some 4,000 workers disinfect and sanitize the mosque ten times a day.
