Iranian Quran Experts Supervise Quran Competition in Afghanistan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 20th edition of a Quran competition in Afghanistan was organized in Herat with the supervision of some internationally known Iranian Quran experts.

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Iranian Cultural Center in Herat held the competition titled “Pledge to Quran” in cooperation with the Supreme Dar-ol-Quran of Sadeqiyyah Seminary.

The three-day national Quranic event was held from October 8 to 10.

The opening ceremony of the competition was held on October 7 with the participation of Iranian Quran experts Mahdi Daqaqaleh and Seyyed Mohsen Mousawi Baladeh, and Afghan Quran msters Barekatullah Salim, Abdulazim Faqiri and Ziyaulhaq Minqad.

Barekatullah Salim was the head of the panel of judges of the competition, which was held on Quran memorization and recitation.

Showkat Ali Heidari from Helmad, Mohammadreza Yusefi and Ahmad Soheil Mohammadi from Herat were the top winners in the recitation category for the youth.

Top participants in adults recitation category were Seyyed Amir Hashemi and Oveis Ahmadian from Herat and mohammad Hassan Hassanzadeh from Yazd.

Mahdi Qorbani from Mashhad, Ziaullah Hashemi and Abdulkhaliq Ibrahimi from Herat were the top winners in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.

The Iranian judges of the Quran competition, dispatched to Afghanistan by the International Center of Dissemination, also organized educational workshops on Tajweed and Lahn principles on the sidelines of the competition.
