Quran Memorizers Honored in Jordan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Some 150 Quran memorizers were honored in a ceremony held by the International Islamic Charity Council in Amman, Jordan.

 

According to Sabaq website, the program was a part of Al-Shafee’ Quran Memorization Plan held with the participation of Aziz Al-Daihani, Kuwait’s ambassador to Jordan, a number of Jordanian and Kuwaiti officials and families of the Quran memorizers.

Addressing the ceremony, the ambassador hailed the Quranic plan as one of a progressive charity project.

He also described the efforts of the plan’s organizers and Quran experts as influential in promoting Islamic and Quranic teachings among the younger generation.

The Kuwaiti official congratulated the Quran memorizers and their families and expressed hope that they can be good role models in society.

Badr-ul-Samit, director of the council was another speaker in the ceremony who said the Quranic plan has been successfully implemented in Jordan and so far helped 500 girls and boys of the country memorize the Holy Quran.

The director added that more than 1000 Quran memorizers are expected to graduate from the Quranic classes held as part of the plan.

The “Al-Shafee’” plan started in 2011 to train 1000 Quran students every year and it has been implemented for more than 7500 girls and boys in 25 countries.

So far 3500 Quran memorizers have graduated in these countries, he went on to say.
