According to the daily Sadi al-Balad, they will be given to winners of the national Quran competition of Egypt, which will be held in three categories.
Others receiving the cash prizes are those who win the country’s annual international Quran competition and Egypt’s Quran contest for the disabled.
The North African country’s 26th international Quran competition is slated to be held on March 29.
According to the Awqaf ministry, it will be organized at three levels, one for religious sciences students and graduates, one for ordinary participants who have memorized at least half of the Quran and the last one for those under the age of 12.
The maximum age limit for the contenders is 40 years.
In 2018, representatives of 50 countries vied for the top prizes in the 25th edition of the Quranic event.
