Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, said that this year, the preliminary stage of the contest will be held at the city and townships level like previous years.
However, he noted, the second round, namely the provincial round, will be held in either Tehran or Qom for representatives of all provinces.
As for the final round, the cleric said, the central city of Arak will host the finalists.
He also said that the final stage of the national Quranic event will be held in the form of a TV Quranic contest.
The decision to introduce the changes was made by the organizing committee after consultations with the country’s Quran masters and experts in the field, he went on to say.
Iran’s national Quran competition is annually held with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
