Ayazi to Compete for Iran in Jordan’s Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran has selected its representative in the upcoming international Quran competition in Jordan, an official said.

 

Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Moghanni, deputy head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, told IQNA that an invitation from Jordan has been recently received for Iran’s participation in the Arab country’s Quranic event.

He added that Peyman Ayazi has been selected to compete for Iran in the international contest.

Ayazi has so far attended Quran competitions in countries like Russia, Algeria, Tunisia and Kuwait.

According to the official, the men’s section of Jordan’s Quran competition is slated for the holy month of Ramadan (May).

It will be organized in the category of memorization, he went on to say.

Last year, Abuzar Karami represented Iran in the men’s section of the contest and failed to win any titles.

Maryam Shafiei is Iran’s representative in the women’s section of the 2018 international Quran competition of Jordan.

It will be held in the Arab country’s capital, Amman, from March 19 to 24.
