The contest began here in the Iranian capital on Wednesday and will run until Friday, December 15.
The participants compete in three age groups of teenagers, youths and adults.
The categories of the contest include Tahghigh and Tarteel recitation of the Quran and memorization of the Holy Book (at 4 levels).
As well as Iranian nationals, there are 318 foreign citizens taking part in the Quranic event.
The Martyrs of Islamic Revolution Cultural Center in downtown Tehran is hosting the event.
The costs of organizing the event have been provided by donations from Quranic activists.
